Rob Luft

Rob Luft

“BBC New Generation artist Rob Luft is a multi-award-winning jazz guitarist from London whose virtuosity has been compared to six-string legends John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and Paco De Lucia. He was already awarded the “Kenny Wheeler Prize” of the London Royal Academy of Music in 2016 and received the second prize of the Montreux Jazz Guitar Competition.

His debut album “Riser” was released on Edition Records and was highly praised by the European media. The UK Guardian wrote that it was a “very ambitious debut, but given Luft’s old-soul successes since his early teens, we should have heard it coming”. At just 25, he released the album “Lost Ships” with Elina Duni on ECM Records. He also joined the John Surman Quartet, with whom the album “Words Unspoken” will be released at the end of 2023 – also on ECM. Rob’s concert highlights to date include performances with artists such as Django Bates, The Cinematic Orchestra & Manu Katché.

In October 2023 Rob Luft released his third album “Dahab Days” on Edition Records and will tour extensively in the UK and Europe with his own quartet in 2024.
